Woophoo Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy relates to the domain woophoo.com owned and operated by the Woophoo Team.

At Woophoo we strongly believe in protecting the privacy of our Members' personal information. This statement describes the privacy practices we apply for the Woophoo service. As part of that, it also expresses our approach to complying with the data protection laws in various countries. If you have questions or concerns regarding this statement, you should contact the Woophoo customer services at contact@woophoo.com.

Solutions for protecting your data

Data given on registration

You don't need to give us information that uniquely identifies you (like e-mail, credit card data, etc.). Most of Woophoo services work without entering that kind of information. The only drawback in doing so is that you might have trouble identifying yourself later in case you happen to forget your password.

Passwords

Woophoo.com saves password hashes not passwords so they are practically unrecoverable. Please use a significantly long and complex password to defend yourself against brute force attacks – that is, trying all possible passwords against a hashed password.

Cookies

We do not have persistent cookies that could be used to track your browsing behaviour. Woophoo.com uses only session cookies that are deleted after logout.

Logs, IP addresses, connections

Access logs are maintained for two weeks for administration purposes. After that period all such logs containing your IP addresses are deleted. We do not keep track in any other way of IP addresses used. Clients can not be tracked themselves so you are not identified longer than for sessions with your user name and password. If you change your identity (user name) no connection can be made with the previous user without deeper analysis of the uploaded data.

Location and other user data

Using Woophoo many types of sensitive data is generated or uploaded. Present location, tracks, pictures taken for instance. These data can be shared in different levels:

The private level – All data generated during your activity are on this level by default and can be seen only by you.

The bunch level – When you enter a bunch you agree to share your last seen / present location and status message with all bunch members. Your bunch will be able to send you chat messages (provided you also enabled this option on your client). Keep this in mind when accepting bunch invitations.

The public level – Since registration on Woophoo is not limited in any way this level should be handled as a broadcast to the world. Pretend you shout out to the world all those tracks you make public. We warn you that this includes the attributes of the track (start/end of the tracks, vehicle used, tags, description, etc.) and the media linked to them.

The database containing your personal tracks can be accessed by Woophoo Team members. However, the usage of the database is restricted to maintenance purposes only.

Woophoo Team may build and share anonymized database of tracking data. We do our best to guarantee the impossibility of reversing the anonymization process and collecting personal information from the anonymized databases. You can learn more about our anonymization process and view sample anonymized data at http://woophoo.com/anonymization.html

Third-party privacy

Google Analytics – We kindly inform you that since our service uses Google Analytics, there are cookies deployed by Google. Your other browsing information could also be gathered and logged during your on-line state by Google.

Google Maps – Even if you specify https on Woophoo login Google Maps unfortunately can not use https. That could leak out some information in case somebody is able to intercept the communication between your browser and Google Maps.

For more information on the issues above please refer to the Google privacy policy at www.google.com/privacy.

Opt-out policy

You can request deletion of your Woophoo account. Information you entered and data collected in relation to your account will be deleted from our servers and offline backups as soon as possible.

Some information related to your tracks may be left in our anonimized track databases since identifying data related to you is impossible even for us after the anonimization process.

Do we disclose personal information to anyone else?

We never share your personal information with third parties except when we have your explicit consent or the law requires us to do so.

We will definitely not:

Links to third party sites

Our site contains links to other sites. Woophoo.com is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those web sites.

Resolving concerns

If you believe your personal information has been compromised or have doubts about their security do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Your consent

By using this site, you consent to the above described data procedures. We may occasionally update this privacy statement especially as new features are added to this service. If there are material changes to this statement or in how we will use your personal information, we will prominently note such changes at the next login on the website. We encourage you to periodically log in and/or review this page to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
